A major innovation being undertaken is the adoption of blockchain technology to enhance transparency and traceability across the supply chain. Blockchain provides a secure and immutable ledger of transactions ensuring data integrity, reducing fraud, and improving compliance with regulatory standards (Smith, 2023). The Internet Of Things (IoT) is being integrated into the supply chain to provide real-time monitoring and data collection. IoT devices and sensors track the condition and location of goods, monitor equipment performance, and provide maintenance alerts thereby improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials.

 Strategic Supplier Relationships and Collaboration

ADNOC is also strengthening its supply chain by enhancing strategic supplier relationships and enhancing collaboration through the implementation of supplier collaboration platforms that allow for real-time information sharing, joint problem-solving, and innovation. Through the development of closer relationships with key suppliers, ADNOC can drive innovation improve service levels, and respond more swiftly to market changes (Smith, 2023). These programs include training, technical support, and capacity-building initiatives, enabling suppliers to meet higher standards and contribute more effectively to the supply chain.

 Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing

ADNOC is adopting green procurement practices from suppliers who adhere to environmental and social standards, using eco-friendly materials, and reducing the carbon footprint of its supply chain (Smith,2023). By focusing on sustainability, ADNOC meets regulatory requirements and enhances its corporate reputation thereby appealing to socially conscious investors. Ensuring that suppliers comply with ethical practices and fair-trade practices is a priority. This involves conducting regular supplier audits, enforcing strict codes of conduct, and promoting fair labor practices.

Advanced Risk Management

To ensure supply chain resilience, ADNOC is implementing advanced risk management tools including risk management tools that leverage analytics to identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain (Smith,2023). Executive Summary This report has focused on evaluating specific sourcing approaches which are used in different spend categories in Alaraby TV Network. This is achieved by focusing on the Information Technology (IT) as spend category for the organisation and particularly hardware sub-category. As part of fully digitising media operations in Alaraby TV Network, the organisation has been sourcing IT systems meant for enhancing their operations. As part of analysis, other spend areas including logistics, health and safety tools, communication equipment and videography and  leasing for vehicles used in movement in Qatar. For the purpose of noting on various sourcing approaches, different tools in CIPS have been used including Mendelow Matrix, Kraljic tool among others. The key findings in this report is that organisations use different sourcing approaches in their categories of spend. The choice of sourcing approaches is informed by the engaged stakeholders, the spend categories and external/internal factors. Also, the findings evidence that sourcing approaches are informed by the organisations position in their business environment. This report findings has identified these approaches as including single, sole, dual and multiple. Also, key findings in the supplier appraisal of the IT hardware sub-category, suppliers are best evaluated in line with the Cater’s 10Cs being applied. The application of the different sourcing approaches lead to Alaraby TV Network to dominate the entire Middle East region and leveraging on competitive advantage. Multiple sourcing has been identified in the findings as involving many suppliers with single sourcing involving one supplier while dual sourcing including different suppliers having demands that conflict. From the identified gaps in this report, the following recommendations can be used to fill these gaps;
  • Opting for most appropriate sourcing approach guided by spend category
  • Priority on policies for PS&M to guarantee integration of all stakeholders interest
  • Simplify overall procurement strategy for ensuring prioritisation of stakeholders point of view
  • Using technologies in phases of procurement lifecycle including RFQ, RFP, e-Auction intended to improve how information ,flows in sourcing approaches identified

This project aim was evaluation of introduction of 3D printing in the spare parts supply chain in ADNOC in UAE. The importance of working on this report is guided by view that ADNOC is working to embrace automation of their supply chain particularly in the category of spare parts sourcing. Hence, for a successful sourcing, investments in 3D printing is identified as core for success in their operations. This is since 3D printing and other forms of automation are increasingly being adopted in different organisations supply chains locally in UAE and internationally. For the importance of investing in 3D printing, the findings of this report evidence the required results to entail;
  • ADNOC success owing to remodelling of PS&M strategy, confident and capacity of spare parts sourcing, talent management and staff competency
  • Improved relations with entire stakeholders (as explained in stakeholders matrix) improving overall organisation operations. 3-D printing would be an improvement from the current iSourcing hence success in technical and commercial-based evaluation
  • Enhance an improvement and robust system and policy development to manage any potential gap in PS&M transformation
  • Today, lower than 10% of ADNOC PS&M would be aligned to implementation of 3D printing and other modernisation strategies appropriate for the organisation
  • Ensure development of new systems and policies which are appropriate for enhancing the current and future implementation of 3D printing and more modernised systems as a progress of their modernisation
The data which has been sourced in this report is through the application of quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (interviews). These findings have been appropriately supported through the application of desk and secondary research for ADNOC and their external environment. The analysis of these findings has been pursued by use of different tools and techniques as supported by CIPS module notes. From the findings and conclusions obtained in this report, various recommendations can be provided for management of the identified gaps. These include;
  • There is a necessity for successfully adopting 3D printing starting with their spare parts sourcing
  • By collaborating with UAE government which owns 70% of the ADNOC shares, more revenues would be provided for the organisation successful operations.
  • ADNOC engaging all the stakeholders holistically by understanding their interests and expectations
  • There is a need to collaborate with government in UAE and other regulators for the sake of improving the suppliers relations
  • By collaborating with institutions, they would successfully offer employees learning opportunities
  • Adoption of strategic sourcing as part of ADNOC sourcing of 3D printing in spare parts sourcing
