Justification for this rating: From my personal context, by promoting deep learning process, I feel that I am in a good position of passing my expertise to others based on what I know. This is particularly in regard to having an appropriate influencing style for communicating and engaging with various audiences. |
Development objectives | To improve my competence within this area I will:
a) To identify the different communication styles which I need to use in order to effectively communicate with different audiences b) Appreciating the role of technology in diversifying communication particularly to contribute to a successful communication c) Ensuring that I eliminate any misunderstanding in communication leading to challenges with making effective decisions which impact directly on my ability to engage all audiences |
Achieving your development objectives: Opportunities and obstacles | In practice, working as a people professional, there would be a need of understanding organisation goals and strategies and audience. This is since these aspect are critically involved in defining influencing style used and identified as holistic. In order to be influencing, this need to be defined by being charismatic, collaborative, assertiveness and inspirational.
As a best practice, the opportunities which I would leverage on to achieve these objectives would include; · Ensure that I can successfully classify all the potential misunderstandings which affect my organisation interrelationships and use them for informing learning needs areas within a period of 2 months · Improve the overall achievement of 80% of continuous development plan of the issues hindering my organisation successful operations being the most common barriers in communication · Use verbal and non-verbal cues in communication for success in the influencing others from different audience For the potential obstacles, they include; · Considering I am considering only the feedbacks sourced from my peers, there could be origin of biasness impacting my active practice. · Also, this would take immense time in its implementation and lack of customised practice of my roles. · Communication is challenging when language barriers are involved The success of achieving these objectives would be evaluated through; · I would have employees who are not ready to embrace their knowledge by being hard to embrace change process. · Further, some of the employees would have low capacity to embrace the shared knowledge to their optimum gain. This is a major challenge which would limit how the learning I share and acquire relevant insights to all the stakeholders is input and recognised. · It could similarly be a challenge/limitation in making sure that all the employees are understanding what is expected of them as they progress with their roles. This is in regard to making appropriate decision on the feedback issued and how to act on it. For the potential obstacles, they include; · Learning is time intensive with a lot of time required for the practice · There are resources required to pay for the learning and evidencing the curiosity for my learning process |

Executive Summary
This assignment talks about the effective negotiation of procurement and supply. It includes at the beginning a brief about ROSHN company and its commercial department and what each function’s role. It also talked about the importance of procurement planning that assists in securing the best deals for the company. Then it referred to the definition of the negotiation and what are the skills that any negotiator must have. It talked in details about the stages of negotiation and the importance of having a preparation stage, negotiation stage, and a post-contracting stage and what each of these stages include from activities need to be fulfilled in order to have a successful project. Moreover, there has been some information regarding the negotiation process within the approval cycle of procurement and how the negotiation is crucial prior approaching the market with a request for a quotation/proposal and what might impact any negotiation process such as PESTLE and Porter’s Five Forces elements. At the end, there has been some recommendations to enhance the knowledge of the current procurement officer at ROSHN along with nominating CIPS courses for any employee works in the procurement department. This report findings identify negotiation plan in procurement and supply management as essential for achieving value for money outcomes and leveraging in property sector where the organisation has based their operations. Also, this report has found that the Post-COVID global economic recession has elicited a reduction in overall performance of the property sector specifically in the real estate. Therefore, for ROSHN, limited resources have been identified as an issue impacting on the organisation success. This inform on the need for a detailed negotiation amongst the organisation different stakeholders to guarantee their continuity in business. The negotiation plan identified in this report is in alignment with various sourcing strategies, terms and conditions and stakeholder relationship. As part of this integrated report, the obtained findings and conclusions inform on the best practice of developing the negotiation plan. This is by following the phases of preparation, test, propose, bargain, agree and close. In all these identified stages, different tools and techniques can be used with all stakeholders relationships enhanced. Further, for achieving an optimum success in negotiation for design services, ROSHN would manage to achieve BATNA and MLA for best resources to be attained. From the findings and conclusions presented, there are different gaps noted affecting success of the negotiation plan. In order to fill the identified gaps, ROSHN can pursue various recommendations. These recommendations include implementing detailed plans with all stakeholders involved. Also, innovation and technology need to be introduced to be part of their negotiation process and successfully merged. An elaborate documentation is also important to be part of the negotiation plan with any conflict of interest mitigated.
