Meaning of Ethical Principles
By use of normative theory, Singhi et al (2023) identify ethical principles as being a defense or justification of moral values and/or moral judgment. In people practice professionals roles, by embrace of ethical principles entail assuming a comprehensive accountability, increased growth, ethical leadership, fair-based practice, and just conflict resolution. Figure 1 shows an overview of the areas of interest for professionals working with people; Figure 1: Ethical Principles importance of upholding ethical codes at work According to CIPD (2021), ethical standards are meant to guide how people approach their jobs by serving as role models for moral conduct. This is modelled with values and principles integrated into decision-making. Ethical principles influencing work as a people professional Building respect- People managers must respect and treat every person with dignity. Regardless of one’s own feelings, being a respectful people professional is essential. Credibility– Professionals in the field of human practice must make decisions that are trustworthy and inclusive. Professionals are always believable in their roles and in the relationships, they establish that are founded on trust. Positive influence on others– A people professional needs to have the capacity to affect everyone else holistically. The staff would be in the best position to carry out their duties if they felt valued. Meaning of professional values; influence According to Caglio (2019), they portray a professional image that is dependable, consistent, and honest while taking professional ideals into account. This offers adequate work deliverables at an appropriate level of quality and on schedule. This is categorized as core knowledge in the CIPD HR professional Map and includes a collection of principles, guidelines, and regulations that are specific to a given job role (CIPD, 2021a). with instance, as a HR officer with Misk Foundation in Saudi Arabia (KSA), I make sure to uphold the highest standards of integrity, propriety, and conduct. Importance for professional being values driven According to CIPD (2022), this includes HR professionals’ abilities to help employees establish a shared purpose and foster meaningful working relationships. Culture encourages effective communication and shows appreciation for workers to create a pleasant workplace. |

Legislation
UK laws and standards support moral and expert behavior. The Equality Act of 2010 (CIPD, 2021b) specifies that workers must not be discriminated against based on protected features at any level of their employment. CIPD Policy Framework (2021b) shows a situation where an organization assumes legal and ethical responsibilities by being inclusive and diverse. Its execution must be done without discrimination due to possessing the protected qualities in light of the Equality Act 2010, especially during the recruitment and selection stages of the employee relationship. For instance, while employed by Misk Foundation in Saudi Arabia, I ensure that no employees are subjected to discrimination throughout the hiring process. Code of practice Additionally, it represents a set of ethical and professional guidelines that are pertinent for all people practice professionals and is in line with the CIPD Code of Professional Conduct (CIPD, 2021c). The implementation of this is based on the need to keep and maintain pertinent standards and behavior/obligations that have been documented. Code of professional conduct recommended areas include the following in figure 2: Figure 2: CIPD Code of Professional Conduct Classification Summary CIPD (2021c) states that following the code of professional conduct enhances the process by highlighting conflicts of interest. This helps distinguish professional and individual capacity. I make sure my company’s personnel don’t bribe or violate others’ rights.
