Leadership styles explain how leaders make decisions, manage teams, and operate an organization. The key leadership styles are autocratic, democratic, participative, transformational, transactional and servant leadership (Jaafar et al., 2021). There are different approaches in terms of decision making, employee involvement, and organizational control depending on each style. The effectiveness of leadership style depends on cultural expectations, industry demands, and business goals, which mean leaders need to tailor their leadership style to meet the specific environment (Khassawneh & Elrehail, 2022).

The Chinese leadership is hierarchical and collectivist, which means that it tends to promote authority, stability and relational building in China (Wang et al., 2022). India’s leadership is a blend of authority and mentorship, that is, transformational and hierarchical. However, the UK emphasizes participative and democratic leadership, which promotes employee autonomy, merits-based decisions, and communication (Li & Wang, 2021).
